It may seem cheaper to use a PS3 controller at first, but having to also buy a blue tooth dongle, and then deal with getting it all setup is far more of a hassle than it's worth when you can far more easily get an xbox one controller and a wireless adapter. Plug in the Afterglow Controller to a USB Port. If the controller does not automatically install, go to step 2. If the below message appears in the lower left of your screen, the controller was not properly installed.

I'm new to gaming on PC but I've had my first really good computer for just over two months now. I started playing Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying it as much as I can but I suffer from a condition called stupid fingers. Anyways, I bought a gamestop branded wired xbox 360 controller and even after installing the drivers and reading a bunch of forums I couldn't figure it out. I went back to Gamestop returned it and bought the Afterglow 360 wired controller after reading that that one should definitely work and I still can't get it to work. I don't know if this will help but my cpu is the i7 4790k on the z97-p board, 16gb ram and a 4gb gtx 770. I would really appreciate if someone could help me I'm getting really frustrated trying to figure this out on my own and usually I'm pretty good at that. I'm running Windows 7 64bit by the way.
Afterglow Wireless Ps3 Controller Driver
My PS3 afterglow controller has always worked great but recently the USB drive just stopped connecting. Now whenever I plug in the USB to my system it just continuously blinks. My USB ports are working fine because I can still charge other controllers and the actual USB to the controller connects perfectly fine to my PC just not my PS3. So I have no clue what the issue is and I don't quite want to get a new controller yet because it seems like this one still works, it just isn't connecting to my PS3 right now. It'll be great if someone could answer this
